Gatwick International Airport is one of four airports serving the London area. It is the second largest airport serving the city after Heathrow, handling the millions of travellers who come to England’s popular capital every year. British Airways is the main carrier operating here, but many of the major international airlines also offer services to Gatwick.

Gatwick is divided into two terminals: North and South. Each modern terminal has a full range of facilities to assist passengers, connected by a slick monorail. The South Terminal has a post office and adjacent medical facility for basic healthcare. A useful information desk can be found in the main concourse of both terminals.

Transport between Gatwick and the London area is provided by rail, coach and taxi links. The Gatwick Express operates a direct train to London’s Victoria Station, while National Express and Flightline offer frequent coach services round the clock. Taxis are always available, or you can rent your own car and drive.

There are plenty of parking options at Gatwick Airport. Each terminal has its own short-term car park located directly adjacent to the terminals. Long-term parking is handled by 19 offsite parking companies just minutes from the airport. Passengers can even choose the convenient valet service. But whichever parking option suits you, it’s suggested you pre-book your parking space online to save time, money and a potential headache if the airport’s lots are full.

Gatwick has two international chain hotels, Hilton and Meridian, directly connected to each of the two terminals. Around 20 other hotels are located within minutes of the airport, offering travellers plenty of choice if you need to stay close to the terminal. Make sure you pre-book your room online to take advantage of the best rates.
